During the last few months I have been working closely with an electronic music record label on CD covers and other collateral. After creating many designs, I decided to try using my love for motion graphics to develop experimental music videos. I made this clip while exploring the power of expression-driven animation, (a.k.a. code), with After Effects. Having done lots of research on different techniques, I was blown away by what some simple code can do when applied to the “Time Remapping” features in relationship to audio frequencies. Using a series of stills shot on my DSLR camera, I edited to music from Mumzoo, “Independence”, Lefrenk remix. Record label: Unusual Sounds, and following is my favorite version:
